ARE YOU EXPERIENCING STRESS DUE TO A DIAGNOSIS OF CANCER?
Are you struggling with anxious thoughts and feelings following your diagnosis and treatment for cancer?
If so, this course may be beneficial to get your life back on track. Cancer Care West is offering a four week stress management course beginning on Thursday 1 March at 7pm in our cancer support centre.
Developing and maintaining a healthy stress management regime is one of the key lifestyle changes that the individual can address following a diagnosis of cancer. Stress management involves exploring our understanding of stress, becoming aware of the situations people and events that cause stress in our lives and most importantly of all, developing strategies that can assist us in coping with stressful life events. These include learning relaxation skills, developing good communication skills and learning about the importance of a healthy balanced lifestyle. This course commences on Thursday 1 March and takes place from 7pm to 9pm. It is led by a clinical psychologist with many years experience of supporting people at traumatic times in their lives.
