The aim of the Oncology Nursing Service at Cancer Care West is to provide information, advice and support to cancer patients and their families. All of our nurses have expertise and experience in oncology nursing in a variety of hospitals. Patient care from diagnosis, through surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy has been the focus of our work for many years. Providing support through information giving is central to our programme at the Cancer Support Centre.
We cannot advise on individual medical treatment plans but we will help you to clarify your understanding of your diagnosis and treatment. If you would like to discuss any aspect of your diagnosis or treatment, please do not hesitate to contact us. If you are worried about fatigue, the side effects of treatment, coping with pain or any other aspect of your journey through cancer, contact us at the centre where you can take time and space discuss your concerns in a warm, homely environment.
At the support centre our library also carries a range of books dealing with different aspects of cancer.
