Support Centre

This quote is typical of what staff at our support centre hear when they talk to people affected by a cancer diagnosis. Our support centre, at 72 Seamus Quirke Road, Westside, Galway is here to help people live really well with their cancer diagnosis and achieve the best quality of life that they possibly can.

Under one roof, you can access information about all aspects of cancer and receive psychological and emotional support individually and in groups, as well as a range of other supports which cancer patients and their families have identified as being beneficial to their cancer journey. This includes benefits advice, a range of complementary therapies and relaxation and stress reduction training. We are especially aware of the needs of families and realise that when someone you love is diagnosed, you often feel as frightened and vulnerable as the patient themselves.

You don't have to make an appointment or be referred and everything is free of charge. The centre is for anyone to use in the way they want. There isn't any ‘right' way through the journey and that is why, at the centre we try to offer as wide a range of supports as possible.

Our centre is staffed by trained cancer support specialists including clinical and counselling psychologists and oncology trained nurses.
